Last November, we had the opportunity to coordinate a very special wedding at the Trinity River Audubon Center in Dallas. Anum and Azim’s wedding was moody and modern but encompassed traditional elements as well. TRAC was the perfect venue for this outdoorsy couple because the venue is surrounded by nature trails. The décor was fairly minimal because the interior of the venue is breathtaking on its own with large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the trails.

The ceremony took place in the grand hall and was later flipped for the reception. Each seat at the ceremony had a little bag of fresh lavender for guests to toss at the happy couple after the ceremony. Our favorite part about the reception set up was the extended rectangular {family style} tables. The southern home-style dinner was catered by Bolsa and included all your favorite comfort foods. During dinner, Anum and Azim’s siblings gave heart-warming speeches. Followed by cake and dancing! Guests were also able to enjoy a Volkswagen photo booth bus parked outside.

Below are the amazing vendors we worked with:

Catering: Bolsa

Hair/Make Up: Cosmetality

Photobooth: Happy Photo TX

Until next time, happy planning!

Last November, we had the opportunity to coordinate a beautiful wedding at The Springs- Tuscany Hill in Anna, TX. Sweta and Shikar’s wedding was the perfect blend of traditional and modern. We absolutely loved working with this beautiful couple and had so much fun on their big day. The day was full of surprises- including the groom’s big entrance on a horse!

To go hand and hand with the Italian-inspired venue, the dinner buffet consisted of all the pastas you can think of! Culinary Art did a fantastic job with the pasta bar. Dinner was followed by a gorgeous and delicious naked berry cake by Party in my Pantry. Table décor by Blissful Celebrations was minimal and consisted of fresh greenery and floating candles.

Sweta and Shikar had a traditional Hindu ceremony which took place outdoors in the pergola. Blissful Celebrations adorned the pergola with dangling white lanterns, greenery and flowy white drapes. Due to the number of rituals included in a traditional ceremony, the couple wanted to be sure the guests remained comfortable for the duration of the ceremony. We set up a blanket display for guests that were a bit chilly. Jedidiah Coffee set up an outdoor coffee bar with a variety of hot and cold beverage options. The coffee bar was a definitely a guest favorite! The couple also had colorful ceremony programs with adorable art for all the guests which explained every ritual in a timeline. We LOVED this idea for guests who may not be familiar with the traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the cocktail hour in the lawn of the venue before being seated for the reception. The reception consisted of choreographed dances and heartwarming speeches before everyone danced the night away. The reception ended with a lavender toss grand exit!

Whether you have a Valentine this year or not, you should definitely observe Galentine’s Day! Celebrate all the lovely gals in your life over mimosas and pancakes. Scroll on for tips on hosting the best babe brunch.

1. Choose a location: Whether you decide to host at home or a restaurant, think girly vibes. This year, we decided to host our babe brunch at Sixty Vines in Dallas at the Crescent Hotel. One of the girliest brunch spots in the area. The perks of hosting at home are that you can decorate as much as you want which brings us to step 2.

2. Plan the décor: Start those Pinterest boards, ladies. Gather inspo for your Galentine décor. Go classic pink and red or modern with white and gold. Opt to decorate with blooms that your girls can take home afterwards. Sass it up with rose gold details.

3. Set the Menu: For an easy brunch menu, stick to the basics. We love serving up an array of mini brunch items so you can offer more of a variety. Mini croissants, mini muffins, mini cinnamon rolls, mini quiches, mini waffles… the list goes on.

4. Boozy and Non-Boozy Beverages: A Galentine’s brunch wouldn’t be a Galentine’s brunch without cocktails. Try a festive spin to a classic mimosa by swapping the OJ for grapefruit juice or hibiscus syrup. For a yummy mocktail, try this recipe for Peach Melba Coolers

5. Sweets for my sweeties: By now you probably know that we LOVE dessert tables. Load it up with all the festive desserts you can find.

6. Activities: This year we decided to do a White Cupid gift exchange. Basically just your classic Christmas gift exchange but for Valentine’s Day. Set the gift price limit and ask your gals to bring 1 gift each. Other fun activities to consider are writing conversation hearts, exchanging cards, practicing self-care by doing face masks, watching a rom-com, etc.

7. Favors: I love an excuse to assemble gift bags! Grab a bunch of cute little items for your besties and stuff them in goodie bags. Make it a self-care goodie bag and include nail polish, face masks, bath bombs, candles, tea. Visit Bullseye’s Playground at Target for lots of Galentine gifts and décor.

Share your ideas in the comments!! And as Leslie Knope would say, “Ovaries Before Brovaries”
